One teenager is dead and two juveniles were injured in a drive-by shooting at a school bus stop in Jefferson county.

Wednesday morning at approximately 6:30, an unknown number of students were awaiting the school bus at Dr. W.J. Hodge and West Chestnut Street, in the Russell neighborhood, when a vehicle drove by and began shooting.

Killed was 16-year-old Tyree Smith, a student at Eastern High School. Another male teenager was wounded in the shooting and transported to a hospital. A third juvenile suffering unknown injuries refused medical treatment.

Police are looking for a gray Jeep (seen in photo) with Illinois license plate number BD91644. Louisville Police Chief Erika Shields said it’s not known if the driver of the Jeep was involved in the crime or merely witnessed the shooting.
