Kentucky State Police arrested two suspects and seized 15 pounds of methamphetamine and 5.25 pounds of cocaine during a traffic stop in Hardin County.

KSP said that Tuesday night at approximately 6:40, a trooper conducted a traffic stop on the Bluegrass Parkway on a Chevrolet Equinox, being driven by 31-year-old Jose Padilla-Torres, of Phoenix, Arizona, for traffic violations and faulty equipment.

Police were granted consent to search the vehicle and located the drugs in various parts of the SUV.

Troopers arrested Padilla-Torres and his passenger, 26-year-old Jose Cardenas Rodriguez, also of Phoenix, and charged each with two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine, cocaine).

They were lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center on $150,000 cash bonds.

The investigation continues and is being led by Trooper Ethan Whitlock.
