The FBI announced on Tuesday its most recent search connected to the disappearance of Crystal Rogers has been wrapped up.
Federal authorities spend several days searching three properties in the Woodlawn Springs subdivision in Bardstown. The properties were under construction by Brooks Houck, Rogers’ boyfriend, at the time of Rogers’ disappearance in July 2015. The FBI said it sent several “items of interest” discovered during the search to its laboratory in Quantico, Virginia.
“Based on information collected over the last year by the federal investigation into the disappearance of Rogers, FBI Louisville is now conducting several searches in the Woodlawn Springs subdivision,” the FBI said when the search began.
Cadaver dogs, drones and ground scanners were used in the search of the three Woodlawn Springs properties, according to Supervisory Special Agent Tim Beam.
Police said Houck is the only suspect in the case.
Rogers, 35 and the mother of five, disappeared on July 3, 2015. Her vehicle was found on the Bluegrass Parkway in Nelson County with her personal belongings inside.
In August of last year, more than 150 federal and state law enforcement officers searched nearly 10 locations in and around Bardstown, including Houck’s residence and motor vehicles.
The FBI has created a website, crystalrogerstaskforce.com, to serve as the official source of information from law enforcement. A $25,000 reward is being offered in the case.
