A Somerset man is behind bars after using gallon jugs of gasoline and propane tanks to burn down a mobile home.

Pulaski County Sheriff Greg Speck said that deputies responded to the arson fire on Old Salts Road, about five miles northwest of Somerset, and found that 32-year-old Ryan C. Daulton, who lived in the residence, had “hung gallon jugs of gasoline throughout the mobile home.”

There were also “gallon jugs of fuel on the floor along with a gas cylinder with a torch head attached and propane tanks in different parts of the trailer,” Speck said.

Speck said the investigation showed that a “Science Hill Fire Unit entered the residence which created a substantial risk of death or serious physical injury to him or any other first responders going into the residence. However, no firefighters or first responders were injured.”

Police said while Daulton lived in the mobile home he did not own the property.

Daulton was charged with second-degree arson, first-degree wanton endangerment and second-degree criminal mischief and lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center.
