For the first time in nearly 16 months, Grayson County’s new COVID case numbers, as well as active coronavirus cases, are nearly at zero.
On Wednesday, the Grayson County Health Department reported only four new cases of the virus have been diagnosed since the last update on June 16. That marks the fewest new cases over a one week period since the onset of the pandemic in March 2020.
Currently, the county boasts a 1.6 incident rate, meaning only 1.6 new cases per 100,000 residents have been confirmed over the last seven days. Additionally, there are only two active cases of the virus in the county, the fewest active cases since March 2020.
In total, Grayson County has had 2,299 cases of the virus diagnosed, with 2,239 people recovered from the illness.
The health department reported no new deaths, leaving the county’s death toll at 58.
Statewide, Ballard, Hickman, Union, Hancock, Green, Cumberland, Garrard, Owsley, Lee, Menifee, Magoffin, and Martin counties have reported zero new cases over the last week.
