
Police have released additional information on a double shooting in the yard of a Hardinsburg assisted living facility on Wednesday afternoon just after noon.
Hardinsburg police told WXBC.com a verbal argument between 60-year-old Charles G. Carwile, of Irvington, and 29-year-old Harold Lacefield, of Hardinburg, became physical when Carwile shot Lacefield in the chest. Police said, 48-year-old Denver Ammons, a friend of Lacefield’s, then shot Carwile in the chest.
Carwile was airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Lacefield is listed in serious condition, according to the news outlet.
Carwile and Lacefield were performing lawn work at The Home Place assisted living facility at 105 Fairgrounds Road. The two men were arguing over finances.
No charges have been filed, but the investigation’s findings will be turned over to a Breckinridge County Grand Jury for its consideration.
