Grayson County Sheriff Norman Chaffins has announced the agency’s 2020 Deputy of the Year.
At Tuesday’s Grayson County Fiscal Court meeting, Chaffins announced that Deputy Andy Vincent has been recognized by a vote of his peers as the GCSO’s Deputy of the Year.
“Andy never complains about anything,” Chaffins said. “He does his job; he’s good to people and his heart is in the right place.”
Vincent, in humbly accepting the award, deflected credit to his co-workers in the sheriff’s office, citing their hard work and dedication in helping him perform his job.
“First off, I’m very honored even to be considered by my peers and colleagues for the award,” Vincent said.”The award itself, however, is a reflection of all the hard work the men and women of the sheriff’s office put in on a day-to-day basis; from the ladies in the office to the sheriff himself. Without their help and hard work, I would not have accomplished what I did throughout the year.”
Vincent began his law enforcement career with the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office under Sheriff Tracy Beatty in March 2015. He moved to the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office in December 2019.
A 2009 graduate of Edmonson County High School, Vincent is a Campbellsville University alum, graduating in 2013 with a degree in criminal justice administration.
