A Leitchfield man has been arrested at the Hardin County Detention Center on a drug trafficking charge.

Hardin County Detention Center (HCDC) Deputy Joseph Funk arrested 28-year-old Cody Sermon Friday night, according to the HCDC website. Sermon was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He’s being held on a $75,000 cash bond.

In October 2018, Sermon was arrested in Grayson County after stealing a Lexus passenger car from the Leitchfield FiveStar parking lot, then being found in the stolen vehicle 90 minutes later, passed out behind the wheel in a private drive on Frontage Road. He fought with police upon being woken up and had to be dragged out of the car.

In that case, Sermon was charged with theft by unlawful taking, DUI, resisting arrest, possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle, and driving on a suspended/revoked license. He was also served with a failure to appear warrant.
