Murder-suicide claims two lives in Murray. Juvenile also shot.

An apparent murder-suicide has claimed the lives of two people only blocks from the Murray State University campus.

According to the Murray Police Department, the shooting occurred Tuesday morning at approximately 7:30 at a residence on Chestnut Street, about a half-mile east of the MSU campus.

Upon police arriving, a juvenile and two adults, 46-year-old Katherine Bryan and 31-year-old Antony Amoroso, both of Murray, were found with gunshot wounds. Bryan and the juvenile were airlifted from Murray-Calloway County Hospital to an unknown hospital where Bryan was pronounced dead.

Amoroso was pronounced dead at the scene by the Calloway County Coroner’s Office.

Murray police said in a statement, “Through investigation, we have learned that Mr. Amoroso shot his girlfriend, Ms. Bryan, and the juvenile before shooting himself.”

No information regarding the juvenile’s condition has been released.
