A Brownsville man recently indicted on drug charges has been arrested on a methamphetamine charge after being pulled over for having no visible license plate.

According to the Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office, on Tuesday night Deputy Matt Skaggs observed the vehicle on Morgantown Road and initiated a traffic stop. As Skaggs turned on his lights, he saw the driver, 38-year-old Willie Ray Lindsey, toss something out the window.

Police soon located the item Lindsey tossed and discovered it was suspected methamphetamine, according to the sheriff’s office, with drug paraphernalia and drug residue found inside the vehicle.

Lindsey was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), tampering with physical evidence and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Lindsey was also served a Logan County criminal summons for theft of services, as well as a criminal summons out of Edmonson County stemming from a recent grand jury indictment for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia charges.

Lindsey was lodged in the Hart County Jail on a $5,000 cash bond.

Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife personnel assisted at the scene.
