The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Storm Watch for much of Kentucky, including Grayson Co.

The Winter Storm Watch goes into effect at 6:00 Wednesday night and lasts until Friday at midnight.

Expect “moderate to heavy mixed precipitation” with a “total snow and sleet accumulation up to four inches. Ice accumulation of up to two-tenths of an inch is possible,” the NWS said.

The NWS added that “multiple rounds of a wintry mix will be possible starting Wednesday and continuing into early Friday morning.”

The new round of winter weather will only serve to complicate already hazardous road conditions, as the anticipated ice and snow accumulation will cover the five inches of snow and ice received over the previous 36 hours. Please travel only if necessary.

Temperatures are forecast to hover between 28 and seven degrees during the weather event.
