Five newly minted Kentucky State Police Troopers have been assigned to Elizabethtown Post 4.

In total, 45 new cadets received diplomas after graduating from KSP’s Training Academy in Richmond.

The new troopers have special significance as they represent the 100th training class since the inception of the agency in 1948, KSP said in a press release.

KSP Post 4 Capt. Daniel White is excited to welcome new troopers to Elizabethtown, saying the troopers are beginning a rewarding career and it will be an honor to serve alongside them.

“Class 100 will be known as a historical class in KSP history,” White said. “This class was not only the 100th graduating class from the KSP Academy; it also had to endure through a pandemic. We are honored to welcome five of those new troopers to Post 4 and I’m excited to watch them embark on their new careers.”

Troopers assigned to Post 4 are: Isaac Atwell, of Glasgow, Jesse Harp, of Elizabethtown, Blaine Miller, of Mt. Washington, Robert Moster III, of Louisville, and Joseph Pineiroa, of Bardstown.

Moster III, KSP said, was Valedictorian of the class.

The troopers earned their badges after completing 24 weeks of intense training while following “Healthy at Work” guidelines, unlike any other cadet class in history.

KSP said the new troopers’ training included more than 1,000 hours of classroom and field study in subjects including: constitutional law, juvenile and traffic law, use of force, weapons training, defensive tactics, first aid, high speed vehicle pursuit, criminal investigation, computer literacy, hostage negotiations, evidence collection, radio procedures, search and seizure, crash investigation, drug identification, traffic control, crowd control, armed robbery response, land navigation, electronic crimes, sex crimes, hate crimes, domestic violence, bomb threats and hazardous materials.
