Ralph E. Geary, age 72 of Millwood, passed away Monday, December 21st 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born, May 30th 1948 in Yeaman, KY the son of Corbett & Mollie Young Geary. Ralph served his country with distinction during the Vietnam War, serving in the 101st Airborne Division, where he was awarded the Bronze Star. After the war he lived the remainder of his life in peace, with his beloved wife, Melba and their six children. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Grayson County Road Department and was a member of the Leitchfield VFW & Brownsville DAV.
He is survived by his wife, Melba Bailey Geary, his six children, Mark Geary, Christy Galmiche (Joey), Misty Bozarth (Jordan), Mary Geary (Jacob Culbertson), Kellie Geary, & Stephanie Geary; his two sisters, Jonell Payton & Cathy Joines; one brother, Michael Geary; and his dog Chubbs.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Joanne Geary, one brother, Jimmy Geary, and one sister, Edith Curry.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 29th 2020 at the Caneyville Memorial Chapel. He will be laid to rest in the Layman Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday (Dec. 28) and from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
All who wish to honor and remember Ralph in person at the visitation or funeral are required to wear a mask or face covering while inside the funeral home for the safety of all those in attendance.
