An intoxicated Louisville teenager has destroyed a Christmas display and drove into a statue of Abraham Lincoln on the Hodgenville town square.
Saturday morning at approximately 2:00, 18-year-old Kaylee Lovvorn drove a 2013 Ford Fusion directly into the middle of the town square, destroying the display and knocking over the statue known as “Little Abe.”
According to the Hodgenville Police Department, “The vehicle failed to negotiate the traffic circle (roundabout), instead driving through the square.”
The Christmas display was in the bed of a truck, with both the display, including a Christmas tree, and truck suffering severe damage, police said. The statue also suffered damage, but the extent of the damage was unclear.
Authorities said Lovvorn “appeared intoxicated and Standardized Field Sobriety Tests showed impairment.” She registered a .190 on a breathalyzer test, more than twice the legal limit.
Lovvorn was cited for DUI (aggravating circumstances) and failure to produce an insurance card and released to a family member.
