The Grayson County Health Department (GCHD) has released a coronavirus (COVID-19) update.
The health department said Tuesday that 13 new cases of the virus have been confirmed in the county since the department’s last update on Thursday. The new cases increase Grayson County’s COVID-19 victim count to 390 since the onset of the pandemic.
Health officials said 72 COVID-19 victims are “isolated/active” cases, with one victim hospitalized. The GCHD said 301 people have recovered from the virus.
The county now has had 201 coronavirus cases confirmed over the last 47 days (4.3 per day), and 145 new cases diagnosed since August 25 (5.2 per day).
Two new deaths were reported Tuesday, raising Grayson County’s COVID-19 death toll to 17. Health officials added that “three deaths are being reviewed by the state to confirm that they were caused by COVID-19.”
