After a two month investigation into “several overdoses and overdose deaths,” the Breathitt County Sheriff’s Office has arrested three suspects and seized over $6,000 worth of heroin, fentanyl and methamphetamine.

According to the Breathitt County Sheriff’s Office, deputies identified the three suspected drug dealers and on Wednesday afternoon began executing traffic stops on the suspects.

The initial two suspects arrested were 38-year-old Joshua Bouchard and 40-year-old Paul Collins, both of Breathitt County. After stopping the pair and searching their vehicles and homes Wednesday afternoon, police located 53 grams of laced heroin, one dosage unit of fentanyl, three baggies of heroin, and one bag of methamphetamine.

According to Sheriff John Hollan, the street value of the seized drugs is about $5,500.

Then, early Friday morning, 44-year-old Bradford Thomas, of Beattyville, was observed entering Breathitt County and, according to police, was believed to be transporting narcotics. During a traffic stop, deputies seized laced heroin, eight dosage units of fentanyl and methamphetamine valued at approximately $700.

All three suspects were lodged in Three Forks Regional Jail where they are charged with multiple drug trafficking and possession counts. Joshua Bouchard is no longer listed as an inmate.
