A Hardin County man has been killed after crossing the median on the Bluegrass Parkway.
Dontrez Dawson, 27, of Vine Grove, perished in the accident Sunday night near the seven mile marker of the parkway, according to a report by The News-Enterprise. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office told the newspaper that Dawson’s 2014 BMW was traveling west when, “for unknown reasons,” the vehicle crossed the median and struck an eastbound Chrysler Pacifica.
Two occupants in the Pacifica, a female and juvenile passenger, were airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital and Norton Children’s Hospital, respectively.
Sheriff John Ward said their injuries were “pretty serious.”
The identities of the two people injured have not been released.
