Three people have perished in two structure fires in Kentucky within an hour of each other and about 145 miles apart.

The first fire, a mobile home blaze which began about 3:10 Monday morning in Corbin (Knox County), resulted in the death of a 16-year-old boy, according to Kentucky State Police. Two other victims, the teenager’s aunt and her boyfriend, were transported to Corbin Baptist Health Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Officials are not sure how the fire began, but police do not suspect foul play.

The second fire began about 4:00 Monday morning in Robertson County after a passerby notified authorities that a house was on fire on Hwy 62 in Mt. Olivet.

Kentucky State Police said when first responders arrived on scene, the home was fully engulfed in flames. After extinguishing the blaze, firefighters located two deceased adults inside the residence.

KSP Detectives are currently working to determine the cause of the deadly fire. But according to police, “nothing suggests foul play at this time.”

Robertson County is located about 53 miles northeast of Lexington while Knox County is about 90 miles due south of Lexington.
