A Clarkson man flipped his vehicle onto its side after suffering a likely medical emergency.
Saturday night at approximately 9:45, the Leitchfield Police and Fire Departments and EMS responded to near the intersection of Leavette Avenue and Beville Drive on the report of a single-vehicle accident.
Upon arriving at the scene, Officer Missy Skaggs found that 77-year-old Randall Thompson had been traveling on Leavette Avenue when his Chevrolet Cruz flipped onto its side and slid between a guide wire and utility pole.
Thompson, who told police he could not remember anything preceding the accident, apparently suffered a medical emergency, possibly causing him to blackout.
Thompson was alert at the scene but walking gingerly and with assistance after being briefly trapped inside the vehicle. He suffered what appeared to be a minor arm injury and was treated by EMS personnel at the scene before being transported to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center.
Assisting at the scene were LPD Officers Bart Glenn and Chase Melton, as well as Sgt. Keith Harrell.
