Three former Louisville Metro police officers have avoided prison time for falsifying overtime records to collect pay for hours they did not work.

Former officers Sgt. Brian Stanfield and Detectives Todd Roadhouse and Mark Final were sentenced Thursday in federal court in Louisville to three years probation, according to prosecutors. Each must spend eight months of the sentence on a curfew.

All three former officers admitted to submitting overtime requests, between 2014 and 2017, and collecting pay for hours they did not work. As part of a unit in the department’s Narcotics Division, they submitted overtime hours claiming they worked for the ATF. Stanfield additionally collected overtime pay by claiming he had worked for the DEA. All three officers created fake arrest reports to support the overtime requests.

The former officers were ordered to pay back about $170,000 total in restitution after pleading guilty to federal wire fraud charges.
