The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office and Clarkson Police Department have teamed-up to recover a stolen vehicle and arrest a suspect.
On Tuesday afternoon, local law enforcement was informed that a stolen silver 1999 Ford Mustang with rear-end damage was somewhere in the “Leitchfield area.” The Mustang was reported stolen out of Jefferson County Tuesday morning.
Then, just before 9:00 Tuesday night, Clarkson Officer Blake Elmore received information that the vehicle was in the Clarkson area. Elmore notified Clarkson Police Chief Buck Meredith and the Grayson County deputies on duty, Sgt. Fred Norder and Mark Newman. Soon after, the Mustang, being driven by 23-year-old Wesley Pawley-Hart, of Leitchfield, was spotted traveling north on Brandenburg Road.
Police converged on the area, and after an investigation, the four law enforcement officers went to a residence on Coopers Point Road, in Eveleigh, where the stolen vehicle was located and Pawley-Hart arrested.
He was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center where he’s been charged with receiving stolen property, first-degree criminal mischief, leaving the scene of an accident, and non-payment of fines.
