The Allen County man who pled guilty to raping and killing a seven-year-old girl in November 2015 has been sentenced.
Timothy Madden, 42, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the murder of Gabriella “Gabbi” Doolin on November 14, 2015. Madden abducted Doolin from a youth league football game being played at Allen County-Scottsville High School. Her lifeless body was found in a nearby creek about 30 minutes after she was reported missing.
In August, Madden pled guilty to murder and kidnapping and entered an Alford plea to rape and sodomy charges. In an Alford plea, the defendant does not admit guilt but states that there is enough evidence to convict at trial.
Investigators arrested Madden about a week after the murder following confirmation that his DNA was at the scene of the crime.
Multiple news organizations are reporting that Madden’s attorney read a statement from the murderer in court where Madden claimed he is not guilty, saying, “People here today that think justice is being served, it is not.” The statement continued by saying that justice in the case will not be served until he, Madden, is released and the rightful murderer is arrested.
Judge Janet Croker responded, “For Mr. Madden to maintain his innocence is an act of a sociopath. “There is no doubt he is guilty of these crimes.”
