
Lewis Russell “Butch” Barrett, age 77, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Friday, (October 11, 2019) at his home.
He was born on June 27, 1942 in Monticello, KY, the son of the late Clyde Russell and Ruth Castle Barrett.
He was retired from International Harvester, a US Navy Veteran, who enjoyed working on cars, fishing and traveling, and was a member of the Antioch General Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Green Barrett, one son, Steven Barrett (Janet) of Clarkson, KY, three daughters, Kimberly Barrett of Leitchfield, Pamela Coleman (Ron) of Elizabethtown, KY and Patricia “Trish” VanMeter (Danny) of Clarkson, seventeen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, and one sister, Peggy Austell of Longview, TX.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Amanda Leah Barrett and one sister, Mary Schmelzer.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, (October 15, 2019) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bros. Gary Embry and Damon Lasley Jr. will be officiating. Burial will be in the Logsdon Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday and from 8:30 a.m. Tuesday until time of services.
