Kentucky State Police is investigating an incident that took place at the Kentucky State Fair Saturday night.

State police spokesman Scotty Sharp said large groups of juveniles were congregating and setting off firecrackers at different locations around the fair, with several people reporting there may be an active shooter. Additionally, many people began yelling “shooter,” causing a panic among fair goers.

Sharp said that after an investigation, police determined that there was not an active shooter on the fairground’s property. But state police is investigating a report of a single gunshot fired into the air by a male juvenile.

No injuries were reported.
