James C. Dorsey, age 87, of Big Clifty, KY passed away Saturday, (July 27, 2019) at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield, KY.
He was born on October 3, 1931 in Hart County, KY, the son of the late Floyd and Beulah Lewis Dorsey.
He served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a retired maintenance worker, and also worked in the sporting goods section at Walmart, He enjoyed building things, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of Broadway Missionary Baptist Church.
He is survived by two sons, Farron (Carolyn) and Trent Dorsey (Rose) both of Big Clifty; two granddaughters, Julie Dorsey and Jessica Matthews (Chris); and one great granddaughter, Heaven Matthews.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Inez Dorsey.
A funeral service will be held at Broadway Missionary Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, (July 31, 2019). Bro. Charles Bell will be officiating. Burial will follow in New Lone Oak Cemetery.
Visitation will be at Dermitt Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, and will move to the Broadway Missionary Baptist Church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services.
