A Tennessee man has walked away from a devastating helicopter crash with non-life threatening injuries.

Monday morning at approximately 10:50, Kentucky State Police was notified of a possible helicopter crash in rural Simpson County, after a man arrived at The Medical Center in Franklin and told officials he had been in a helicopter crash.

Police said that after arriving at the scene, in a field of tall corn near Kummer and Schweizer Roads, the initial investigation revealed that 35-year-old Anthonie C. Vos, of Sevierville, Tennessee, was operating a 1973 Tomcat MK6c helicopter as he sprayed crops, when the helicopter crashed, completely destroying the aircraft.

Vos was taken to the hospital by private means.

The Federal Aviation Administration has responded to the scene to investigate the cause of the crash.
