Two Clarkson women are facing drug charges after a traffic stop by the Clarkson Police Department.
Monday afternoon at approximately 1:30, Clarkson Police Chief Buck Meredith conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near where North Patterson Street becomes Clarkson Thomas School Road.
Upon making contact with the two occupants, 30-year-old Jamie R. Puckett and 30-year-old Alicia N. Morrison, Meredith thought the two women were acting suspiciously, resulting in police searching the vehicle. During the search, Meredith located a quantity of methamphetamine.
Both women were arrested and lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center. Puckett was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), while Morrison was charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).
Later on Monday, police obtained a search warrant for the suspects’ residence at 403 North Patterson Street. The Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task Force, along with Meredith and Clarkson Police Officer Blake Elmore conducted the search, which began after 8:00 Monday night. Police completed the search at approximately 11:00.
It’s unclear at this point what, if any additional evidence was located in the home. K105 will update this story additional information is obtained.
