A pilot for an American Airlines subsidiary was arrested early Saturday morning at Louisville International Airport for the November 2015 deaths of three people in Christian County.

Christian R. Martin, 51, was arrested one day after he was indicted by a Christian County Grand Jury in the deaths of Calvin Phillips, 59, his wife, Pamela Phillips, 58, and their neighbor, Edward Dansereau, 63, all of Pembroke, according to the Kentucky Attorney General’s office.

The three victims were murdered on or about November 18, 2015, according to authorities. Calvin Phillips was found shot to death in the cellar of his home, while the bodies of Pamela Phillips and Dansereau were located a few miles away in a burned-up vehicle (owned by Pamela Phillips) in a cornfield

Martin moved from Christian County after the slayings and was living in North Carolina at the time of the indictment, officials said.

American Airlines said in a statement it is cooperating in the investigation. The airline said Martin has been a pilot for subsidiary PSA Airlines since January 2018. A criminal background check conducted on Martin found no “criminal history that would disqualify him from being a commercial pilot,” the airline said. Martin was a major with the U.S. Army Rangers.

Martin is being held without bond in the Christian County Detention Center on three counts of murder, two counts of arson, first-degree burglary, and tampering with physical evidence.

Executing the arrest were the Louisville Metro Police Department, U.S. Marshals Service and Christian County Sheriff’s Office.
