A Grayson County High School student was injured in a Hart County ambulance incident on Tuesday night.
The incident occurred in Horse Cave as a Horse Cave Fire Department member, two EMS employees and a female GCHS student (who is also an EMT-Basic student) were transporting a patient to be airlifted when the rear of the EMS “popped up” and tossed the crew around the back of the ambulance, according to WVIH.com.
One crew member and the student were injured. The patient being transported was taken to The Medical Center at Caverna and later airlifted.
The Grayson County student was transported to University of Louisville Hospital with a back injury and later released, while the injured crew member was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
The names of those injured have not been released.
