Police are searching for a man who led Breckinridge County authorities on multiple high-speed chases, and who is considered armed and extremely dangerous
Authorities are looking for 24-year-old Anthony Grigsby, of Louisville, described by Louisville police as a “dangerous dude.”
In the late-night hours of February 5, police in Breckinridge County pursued Grigsby after he was spotted at Home Town Auto, in Hardinsburg, acting suspiciously. When police arrived, he fled in a Chevrolet Silverado, striking an officer’s vehicle as well as another car on the lot. Police pursued Grigsby on Hwy 60 toward Hancock County until Grigsby’s speed became “excessive and dangerous,” according to report by WXBC.com.
Grigsby was again spotted by police a short time later as the suspect drove a Ford F150 truck. Another pursuit commenced with the suspect crashing into a residence in Hardinsburg. He continued to flee, though, before wrecking again and fleeing on foot.
Several hours later, at approximately 7:30 the morning of February 6, WXBC.com reports that Grigsby entered a residence just west of Hardinsburg and stole several items, including a Polaris Ranger side-by-side. He drove that vehicle to another home, crashing the Polaris into the garage of the residence before stealing a shotgun and a Cadillac passenger car from the garage.
Soon after, the stolen Cadillac was spotted on Hwy 60 driving at a high rate of speed just east of Hardinsburg, with police pursuing Grigsby into Meade County, where he struck a utility pole before fleeing on foot. He then stole another vehicle at gunpoint. That vehicle, with the stolen shotgun inside, was later found in Fairdale, in Jefferson County.
Grigsby is wanted on several charges including robbery, burglary, assaulting a police officer, and multiple counts of wanton endangerment, according to police. Officials ask citizens to call 911 if he is spotted, as authorities warn people to not approach Grigsby.
Unconfirmed reports indicate Grigsby could be part of an organized group of car thieves.
