A Knox County man has been arrested after he sent a disabled 11-year-old girl a sexually explicit photo of himself.
Police said 37-year-old Jerry L. Smith, of Flat Lick, sent the girl a picture of his genitals and received five pictures of the girl’s genitals in return, according to media reports. He also used Facebook Messenger to have sexual conversations with the girl.
Smith is also accused of showing another child the photos of the girl and himself.
He was arrested Monday by Kentucky State Police and charged with first-degree sexual abuse (victim under the age of 12), distribution of obscene matter to a minor and prohibited use of an electronic communication system to procure a minor for sex offenses.
Smith was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center on a $50,000 cash bond.
