Two days after Sen. Rand Paul filed a lawsuit seeking compensatory and punitive damages for pain and suffering from Rene Boucher after Boucher tackled Sen. Paul as he did yard work, Boucher filed a lawsuit Wednesday against Sen. Paul.
Boucher, a retired Bowling Green anesthesiologist, was recently sentenced to 30 days in jail after tackling his long-time neighbor and fracturing his ribs in November 2017.
Boucher’s lawsuit seeks “compensatory and punitive damages.” The lawsuit also names Sen. Paul’s wife, Kelly, and the Rivergreen Homeowners Association, as defendants.
According to WBKO.com, the complaint states that the Pauls were in violation of the Homeowners Association’s by-laws for repeatedly piling up “unsightly” debris, tree limbs, mounds of trash and other waste near Boucher’s property. Boucher also claims some members of the homeowner’s association knew of the violations concerning yard debris but did nothing about the issue.
