Wednesday morning at approximately 6:20, the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office and Caneyville Fire Department responded to the 97 mile marker of eastbound Western Kentucky Parkway on the report of a single-vehicle accident.

When Chief Deputy Jarrod Mudd and Sgt. Clay Boone arrived on the scene, they found a Chevrolet Malibu, being driven by 35-year-old Jackalyn Embry, of Caneyville, had left the roadway and struck an embankment.

Based on marks at the scene, the vehicle seems to have taken a hard right turn and driven almost directly off the roadway. Yaw marks on the road indicate the vehicle traveled about 60 feet after Embry lost control, and appears to have gotten sideways before leaving the parkway and almost immediately hitting the embankment. The impact flipped the car at least once in an easterly direction for about 30 feet, before coming to rest on its driver’s side.

Embry, who was not wearing a seat belt according to Grayson County Coroner Joe Brad Hudson, was ejected from the vehicle, and pronounced dead at the scene by Hudson. Embry’s juvenile daughter was transported to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
