Disgraced eastern Kentucky disability lawyer Eric Conn has been lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.

After being returned to the U.S. earlier this week after his capture outside a Pizza Hut in Honduras on Saturday, Conn was held in the Fayette County Detention Center, but on Thursday he was transported to Grayson County.

Conn, who admitted to bilking the Social Security Administration out of $550 million dollars over several years, went on the run six months ago just days before he was to testify against a co-conspirator.

Conn, 57, had law offices in Stanville, in Floyd County, but lived in Pike County. He was originally sentenced to 12 years in prison, but now faces escape and other charges related to him fleeing. He pled not guilty to those charges on Wednesday.

His trial on the new charges has been scheduled for February.

The Grayson County Detention Center is no stranger to holding high profile prisoners, as mob figures, international terrorists and famous inmates have been housed at the state’s only financially self-sufficient detention center.
