Yesterday, a special grand jury in Logan County indicted that county’s Commonwealth Attorney, Gail Guiling, and her ex-husband on multiple felony charges.

In July, the Kentucky Attorney General’s office assigned Christian County Commonwealth Attorney Lynn Pryor as special prosecutor in a case pending against James Guiling, according to a report at WBKO.com.

The grand jury, though, indicted both Gail and James Guiling.

Prior said that on Wednesday there was only one case pending, and that was against James Guiling, but after yesterday, there were additional indictments returned. The prosecutor did not elaborate on how the charges against either Gail or James Guiling came about.

Gail Guiling has been charged with tampering with physical evidence (class D felony), two counts of official misconduct, and two counts of engaging in organized crime/criminal syndication, a class B felony.

Her husband was charged with theft by unlawful taking over $500, theft by failure to make required disposition of property, and retaliating in a legal process, all class D felonies, and two counts of engaging in organized crime/criminal syndication.

Gail Guiling will not be allowed to prosecute cases while the indictment is pending.
