The Department for Local Government (DLG) has selected Grayson County for a $7,414 award from the Land Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) for Logsdon Valley Park.
The proposed funding will go to construct a new ADA picnic pavilion adjacent to the park amphitheater.
“Preserving and maintaining local parks is an integral part of stewarding resources so that they might be enjoyed by all,” said DLG Commissioner Sandra Dunahoo. “The investment in this modern picnic pavilion at Logsdon Valley Park will yield many benefits to the children and families of this community.”
These new enhancements will provide local residents a safe, convenient place for children to gather together,” Sen. Stephen Meredith said. “I appreciate Grayson County leaders seeking these funds and DLG for realizing the value of investing in these improvements.”
Administered by DLG, funds for this program are allocated to Kentucky by the Department of Interior, National Park Service. Only upon their approval and an executed Memorandum of Agreement by DLG, may construction begin.
