Leitchfield Mayor William Thomason said Tuesday night that newly-named Leitchfield Police Department Assistant Chief Bryan Langdon will take over as interim Police Chief after former Chief Kevin Henderson was sworn-in as Grayson County’s new Judge-Executive on Tuesday night.
Langdon, who is also an active member of the Leitchfield Fire Department, has been with LPD for eight-and-a-half years, and was promoted by Henderson just over two weeks ago.
Thomason said he will begin taking applications for the open Leitchfield Police Chief position in the very near future. Thomason and the City Council will then work together to select a new chief.
Henderson served as chief for over four years.
