Kentucky State Police executed a search warrant on Tuesday at a property owned by the grandmother of Brooks Houck, the boyfriend of missing Bardstown woman Crystal Rogers.
Rogers is the Bardstown mother of five who went missing in July 2015. Her father, Tommy Ballard, was mysteriously killed while hunting in November 2016. Kentucky State Police said the so-called hunting accident is still being treated as a death investigation. Ballard was shot in the chest on family property before hunting with his grandson.
Houck is believed to be the last person who saw Rogers alive and has been named as a suspect in the case. Troopers could be seen coming out of Houck’s grandmother’s home with multiple evidence bags, and according to the grandmother’s attorney, the search warrant was specific, and related to bullets, guns and reloading equipment, media reports said.
A total of five warrants have been served on the family's properties since the investigation into Rogers' death began. This is the first by KSP, though, the agency leading the investigation into the shooting death of Ballard.
No other information has been released at this time.
