A Leitchfield man was uninjured in a fatality wreck Wednesday morning on Reedyville Road (Hwy 185) in Butler County.
Kentucky State Police said troopers responded to the accident at approximately 6:15 Wednesday morning in the 4000 block of Reedyville Road. Authorities said the preliminary investigation showed that 36-year-old Dustin W. Fields, of Leitchfield, was driving a 2017 Chevrolet pickup truck southbound, while 63-year-old Timothy R. Phelps, of Bowling Green, was driving a 2006 Scion SUV in the northbound lane.
The two vehicles collided head-on “near the center dividing line of the roadway,” police said.
Phelps was pronounced dead at the scene by the Butler County Coroner’s Office.
No other injuries were reported.
The investigation continues and is being led by Trooper Michael Wathen.
