Two Caneyville residents have been arrested in a major drug bust after a lengthy investigation.

The Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task Force (GHCNTF), the organization which initiated and led the investigation that has spanned several months, Leitchfield Police Department and Kentucky State Police executed a search warrant at a Caneyville residence on Friday.

During a search of the home, law enforcement seized three-and-a-half pounds of methamphetamine (street value of about $5,000 per pound), 10 pounds of marijuana (street value of about $20,000), firearms (and other various weapons), and drug paraphernalia along with other drugs, according to police.

Officers arrested 44-year-old Jason Hall and 45-year-old Jean Weiland and charged each with trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), trafficking in marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Hall was also charged with resisting arrest.

Hall was out of jail on bond when he was arrested on Friday — In November 2021, police said the task force confiscated a half-pound of meth and “several weapons” from the same residence and charged Hall with trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine) along with other counts.

Both Hall and Weiland are lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.
