A speeding driver has resulted in the seizure of over 10 grams of methamphetamine in Ohio County.
Ohio County Sheriff Tracy Beatty said that on Monday the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office and Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for excessive speed.
During the stop, Beatty said a K-9 officer alerted to the odor of narcotics. During a search of the vehicle, being driven by 51-year-old James W. Crook, of Madisonville, police found approximately 12 grams of methamphetamine.
Crook was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and speeding 12 miles per hour over the limit. He was lodged in the Ohio County Detention Center.
