A correctional officer at the Green River Correctional Complex in Muhlenberg County has been accused of sexually assaulting an inmate.
Kentucky State Police arrested 53-year-old Irvin D. Ware, of Central City, and charged him with third-degree sodomy.
State police began investigating the claim after an inmate told prison officials that he had been sexually assaulted by a staff member.
Green River Correctional Complex is 982-bed medium/minimum security facility in Central City.
Ware was lodged in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center.
