An Ohio County man has been charged with over a dozen counts of first-degree rape of two juveniles.
Ohio County Sheriff Tracy Beatty said that earlier this month, deputies initiated an investigation into allegations that 33-year-old Christopher Sanders, of Fordsville, had “sexually abused multiple females under the age of 16 and 18.”
Sanders was initially arrested on Saturday for violating an IPO (Interpersonal Protective Order).
(An Interpersonal Protective Order is issued to protect a person and their minor child from violence with whom the person or the person’s child is involved in a “dating relationship,” according to Kentucky Revised Statutes. There must be an immediate and present danger of dating violence and abuse. This means physical injury, sexual abuse, stalking, assault, or the threat of infliction of fear of imminent physical injury, sexual abuse or assault.)
After further investigation, Sanders was charged with 13 counts of first-degree rape, two counts of first-degree sodomy and first-degree sexual abuse. “Sanders admitted to the allegations against him regarding at least one of the juvenile victims,” Beatty said.
Sanders was lodged in the Ohio County Detention Center.
The investigation is ongoing.
Beatty asked that anyone with additional information on Sanders’ illegal activities to contact the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office at 270-298-4445.
