One suspect killed in Grant Co., one in critical condition in Marion Co., deputy shot in 2 officer-involved shootings Wednesday, Thursday

Kentucky State Police is investigating two officer-involved shootings that occurred on Wednesday and Thursday.

On Wednesday afternoon, a trooper in Grant County shot and killed a male suspect. He was pronounced dead at St. Elizabeth Grant Hospital in Williamstown.

No officers were injured in the incident but other details surrounding the shooting have not been released.

On Thursday, a Marion County deputy and male suspect were shot as they exchanged gunfire.

State police said troopers responded to the police-involved shooting at approximately 1:30 Thursday afternoon at the request of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

KSP Post 15 Public Affairs Officer Nick Hale said a male suspect was airlifted to University of Kentucky Healthcare Hospital where he is listed in critical condition. The deputy was transported to Spring View Hospital in Lebanon. He is listed in stable condition.

No other information on the shooting has been released.

The Kentucky State Police Critical Response Team is investigating both shootings.
