The Redneck Rave held in Edmonson County between Thursday and Sunday resulted in several minor offenses as well as the seizure of over five pounds of marijuana edibles a vendor intended to sell at the event.
According to the Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office, before and during the rave, held at Blue Holler Off-Road Park on Ollie Road, police made nine arrests and issued 17 citations.
According to the sheriff’s office, 29-year-old Tyler J. Smith, of Homer, Michigan, was charged with trafficking in marijuana after a traffic stop.
Police said a deputy initially observed Smith’s vehicle did not have a license plate light and initiated a traffic stop. Upon making contact with Smith, deputies said the suspect was “extremely nervous and visibly shaking,” as deputies detected the strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
During a search, deputies discovered over five pounds of THC edibles, marijuana and cash.
Smith told police he was intending to sell the edible, Hemp, and CBD oil products at the rave. Deputies were advised by prosecutors to “seize all edibles in unmarked packages, and anything labeled THC.”
In addition to Smith’s trafficking in marijuana charge, the sheriff’s office made the following arrests or issued the following citations at the event:
Possession of a controlled substance (2), tampering with physical evidence, DUI (4), trafficking in marijuana (1), possession of marijuana (2), and possession of drug paraphernalia (3) along with 16 non-moving violations.
