The preliminary autopsy results for an Alabama man found deceased in a vehicle on Thursday morning in Leitchfield yielded no definitive cause of death.

Grayson County Coroner Joe Brad Hudson said the preliminary autopsy results for 63-year-old Howard F. Yeager, of Opelika, Alabama, did not uncover a cause of death. Hudson said the state Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville is awaiting toxicology results before making a cause of death ruling.

Yeager, who had moved to Grayson County to help his son build boat docks, was found deceased Thursday morning just before 6:00. He was located in a vehicle that was parked behind an old stock yard building off the 800 block of South Main Street.

Along with the state Medical Examiner, the Leitchfield Police Department and Grayson County Coroner’s Office are investigating the death.

Toxicology results could take up to four to six weeks.
