A LaRue County man has been charged with murder after a body was found in his backyard.

Kentucky State Police said troopers received information on a possible body buried on a property in Buffalo, about six miles southeast of Hodgenville.

On Friday, police arrived at the residence in the 500 block of Corinth Road and conducted a search where authorities located the remains of an “unidentified person” buried in a large pile of debris in the backyard.

State police arrested 59-year-old David Puyear, of Buffalo, and charged him with murder. He was lodged in the LaRue County Jail.

The remains were transported to the state Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville.

Additional charges could be forthcoming as the investigation continues.
