With COVID-19 cases on the rise in Grayson County, the Grayson County Health Department (GCHD) is hosting a free vaccine clinic on Thursday.

“We are seeing an alarming increase of active COVID-19 cases in Grayson County,” the health department said on Tuesday. “Please use caution while in-doors or when social distancing cannot be observed. Consider masking when possible. If you have symptoms of COVID, please schedule testing with your medical professional.”

The free vaccine clinic will be held at the GCHD Thursday morning from 9:00 until 11:00 and again Thursday afternoon from 1:00 until 3:00. No appointment is needed.

The health department is located at 124 E. White Oak Street in Leitchfield.

Two bordering counties, Ohio and Hart, are now in the “red,” as both counties have incident rates just over 35, signaling 35 new cases per day per 100,000 population have been diagnosed over the last week.

Grayson County is characterized by the KDPH as having an “accelerated” spread of the virus, with 18.4 new cases per day per 100,000 residents confirmed over the last seven days.
