A six-week investigation by the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office and Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task Force has resulted in the arrest of an alleged major drug distributor and a woman police have spent more than a year searching for after she was charged with multiple counts of manufacturing methamphetamine.

On Tuesday afternoon, a search warrant was served at 8609 Shrewsbury Road and resulted in the seizure of copious amounts of heroin, methamphetamine, hydrocodone and numerous items related to drug trafficking, police said.

Law enforcement arrested 45-year-old Ronald Dale Williams Jr., of Leitchfield, and a woman police have been searching for over the last 18 months, 37-year-old Amber Joiner, who was found hiding in a closet.

Williams, the primary target of the investigation, was charged with two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine, drug unspecified), three counts of possession of a controlled substance (two counts heroin, methamphetamine), prescription controlled substance not in its proper container, second-degree hindering prosecution/apprehension, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Joiner, who was served with two out-of-county warrants related to manufacturing methamphetamine and facilitation to manufacture methamphetamine, was charged with two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine, drug unspecified), two counts of possession of a controlled substance (heroin, methamphetamine), prescription controlled substance not in its proper container, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The investigation into Williams began when both the task force and Grayson County Sheriff’s Office received numerous tips on Williams’ alleged illicit activities. Police want to remind people that all tips are greatly appreciated and fully investigated, although completing an investigation many times takes several weeks or even months.

Williams, who was convicted in Grayson County on a third-degree rape charge in May 2018, is on parole until 2023, according to the Kentucky Department of Corrections. Joiner, who was convicted for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) in LaRue County in 2018, is on parole until December 2021.

The investigation is ongoing and could result in additional charges.

Both suspects are lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.
