Motorists in eastern Kentucky had an unexpected visitor Monday afternoon as a plane made an emergency landing on the Mountain Parkway.
The Wolfe County Sheriff’s Office said the private place made the emergency landing after experiencing engine failure. There were no injuries to the pilot or parkway drivers. The plane suffered no damage. Officials said the landing was executed flawlessly primarily because the pilot is an experienced flyer.
In addition to the Wolfe County Sheriff’s Office, multiple other first responders arrived at the scene, including Kentucky State Police and the Kentucky Highway Department.
